It is unbelievable to me that it's already been two years since you joined our family. You are such a sweet, fun-loving little girl. And yes, you are a little girl now. You will have little to nothing to do with anything "baby". You are a "big girl". While I am proud that you are growing, oh, how I want you to remain my little baby.
You are so beautiful inside and out. Your curly red hair and beautiful blue eyes are captivating. There are times that I just sit and stare at you enamored by your physical beauty. And as I watch you I see the beauty you have inside. You genuinely care about others. You walk up to strangers and hug them. You say "Hi!" to anyone around us. You have a love for people that is endless.
You love your big sister more than words. Just in the past couple of weeks you have started calling her by name instead of "Sissy". You call for her, and ask for her first thing in the morning. You enjoy playing with her, even when you two aren't getting along. As a matter of fact, I have learned that a good discipline tactic with you is to separate you from Courtney for a short period of time. It breaks your heart, but you learn your lesson.
You are a very busy little girl. You go, go, go from the time you get up, until the time you go down. You still take a long nap in the afternoon. As a matter of fact I think you may have my affection for napping. You rarely, if ever, complain about going down for a nap. I simply rock you a few times and lay you in your bed. You drift off to sleep on your own; quite the opposite of your big sister. You love your outside time and would live outdoors if we would allow it. You adore our dogs, Jodi and Sugar, or as you call them "Dodi and Suga". Running and playing with them, and occasionally dressing them up with Courtney are some of your favorite times.
Your daddy and I love you more than any words could express. Prayers are said for you daily. We pray that as you grow, your love for the Lord will grow. We pray that you will grow in His wisdom, and seek Him and His will in your life. We pray that one day God will bless you with a loving husband. We pray that the Lord's will will be done every day of your life. You are a blessing. You remind us daily to live simply and love much.
We love you, and we look forward to watching you grow. We hope to celebrate many more birthdays with you.
Love Always,
Mommy and Daddy
At 2, Carlee:
--can carry on a conversation. She uses 5-7 word sentences, and has begun to use pronouns correctly.
--is a milk drunk. She drinks about 1.5-2 gallons per week!!! There are times she would rather drink milk than eat!!
--loves to eat macaroni and cheese (called "monkey cheese" in our house), shredded wheat (strawberry and blueberry are preferred), bananas (called "nannies"), crackers of any variety (to include wheat thins, triscuts, and cheese-its), and ice cream (strawberry is best)
--is beginning to like books. She still has a hard time sitting to listen to a whole book, but she likes the idea of you reading a couple of pages.
--LOVES her babies. She is very passionate about them. She feeds them, changes them (complete with a "shoo-wee), and rocks them to sleep. She even sings Jesus Loves Me to them.
--can gallop (or a gallop type thing), walk up and down stairs (lots of practice on the 4th floor), runs, jumps, and climbs without any help. Sometimes we find her in places she should be because of her climbing (like the day her daddy found her standing in the bathroom sink).
--can swing by herself on a "big kid" swing. She's only fallen off once.
--loves life and everything about it!!!
2 years ago:
Brand new baby

I still tear up when I see this. I just couldn't believe she was actually here!
From her photo shoot. I love how she looks so content in her Daddy's hands.
And today, 2 years old:
I will post pics of tonight's cake and presents soon (before she is 18). Oh and just for kicks....I find this terribly disturbing--Carlee is wearing the same shirt Courtney wore on her 5th birthday....it was only slightly roomy!
Stats next week after our 2 year check-up.
