[Panting] I love my new elliptical......really, I do

So my RA doc said I would feel better if I would exercise. He bugs me about it at every dad-gum appointment!!! I thought, "Whatever dude, do you feel like someone ran over your feet with a Mack truck...doubt it!" I was SUPER skeptical. BUT, I noticed my body craving exercise. Strange, because chocolate sounds so much better. If you know me, you know I HATE, HATE, HATE to exercise. I don't run. If a large animal were chasing me, I would make a juicy snack for the animal. No real need to move quickly with out the aid of an engine. I think my back side proves this point :) On the super rare occasion that I did go to a gym (to humiliate myself) I did enjoy the elliptical.....and MAN do my legs burn after using one. SOOOO, long story short, I wasn't about to get the "talking to" again at my next appointment. AND I wasn't about to shake the junk drawer at the gym.....SOOOO, I broke down and bought a clothes hanger....I mean elliptical machine. It sits in the living room. Looking at me as I watch the TV. I figure in the living room it's less likely to be the inevitable clothes hanger, AND I can exercise and watch TV.
I am proud to say that I have used it everyday since I brought it home (and Damon got it out of the van), which was Friday. OH MY GOODNESS!! I could hardly stand up in church yesterday. I am sooooo out of shape (actually I am a shape, just not one that is conceived as "fit"....even though I do indeed fit into my jeans!) Each day I am setting a goal, just a little more than the previous day. Now, mind you, I have not truly exercised in almost a year. So I am not on that thing for an hour or anything....although that might be where I am at by the end of the summer (I think I just heard my quads moan....).
I will humbly admit that yes, I do have more energy (although I still require some quiet resting time). And my joints don't hurt quite as bad, though this isn't a cure.
So there you have it.....my doc was right and I was wro------eh, I wasn't as right =D
